Yes, because what happens is that there is a sort of "rebound" after stopping birth control - you become more fertile and you ovulate right after birth control termination of use. Most doctors, however, still recommend that you wait at least 3 months after using brith control before trying to get pregnant, just to be on the safe side.

Some people get pregnant after only missing one pill or being late on it, while others take their pills sporadically and irresponsibly and never get pregnant! Some girls get pregnant while trying the first time, while others wait up to a year of trying before they can get pregnant (regardless of whether they used to be on the pill or not.) As you can see, it is all luck and chance and timing. Everyone's body is different...some women start ovulating regularly right after they stop the pill, while other's bodies take longer to adjust, maybe even months. There is no higher or lower chance.

Well, yes, you'll have a higher chance of getting pregnant than you would if you were still on birth control.

But no, you don't have a higher chance of getting pregnant than you did before you started being on birth control...keeping in mind that you'll have to change your behavior once you get off the medication.

I know that the reason I'm here is because my mom stopped using birth control and got pregnant right away!

According to what the doctor told my g/f, yes.
She was on orthotricyclen tabs, went to switch to something else. In the meantime, the doctor said that her risk of pregnancy was increased over that of someone who was never on birth control...like the body saved it all up and is now ready to go.
Also said that when she started up again (patch this time) that it is (of course) not immediately effective and have to give it time to build up in the system, so keep that in mind, too.

No matter what anybody says on here though, you should really call your doctor and ask them for the official version.

If you are taking the pill and you stop or skip a pill, your change of getting pregnant is about 60% Don't stop the pill if you don't wanna get pregnant.

quite simply no...some methods of birth control actually make it so you have to wait a few months for your cycle to return to normal, but there arent any that will make your chances of conceiving any better!

yes...your ovaries release an egg a month and take turns (left side/right side) When you stop the pill both ovaries can release an egg until they get back on schedule....my sister-in-law had twins (fraternal, of course) this way.
