I have never voted along any party line. I vote for the person but something happens when they get into office. It seems to be more important to vote the party line or according to the polls and they can always say 'I've grown and have changed my opinion about what I felt a year or six months ago.

Why are so many average American so adament about their 'party' and feel they have to agree and defend their party on EVERY issue? Why do people vote on one issue only?
We have all got start to think for ourselves and look at both sides of issues with an open mind.

I've changed my mind on several issues but not because they convinced me but I've tried to reason things thru and came to different conclusions but nothing is set in stone.

The mental picture people get in their minds comes from early years. Their parents and grandparents voted this way , So, they do as well.. It comes from voters generally being too damned lazy to understand the issues for themselves.

While I am a registered republican, I tend to vote for a politician that reflects values of fiscal restraint and conservatism. The current crop of RINOS (including the whitehouse) will be hard pressed to retain my vote as I think Congress is failing on key points with immigration, and fiscal responsibility to the taxpayers. The libs never will get my vote because I don't believe in the give away programs that get them the majority of their voters. This said as Americans become more successful libs will lose more and more because of the fiscal issues.

I've been wanting to see privatized social security for 35 years, I've been wanting real tax reform and perhaps in the way of HR25 it may happen, but only IF congress recognizes the voters demand it through making it count at the ballot box.

This is exactly why the party system needs to be abolished.
Force every one to run as an independent focusing on the issues and only the issues instead on concentrating on how to make the other party look bad so that they can keep getting the bribes from lobbyists.

Political parties have divided the country. If you don't believe everything the leaders of the party believes, then you are against them. Then the other party treats you like crap too. So I say no. I wish they were gone, but that will never happen.

depends on what they are serving. I went to one and there was a bunch of old republicans drinking whisky and trying to hit on every gal under 30. I didn't like that party!
