I've found that the easiest way to do this is to sleep by yourself in an unusual location, after having had a stressful day, for example in the backyard or garage. During the night, you will receive guidance from the deceased and they WILL listen to your questions. Just don't be sad when you wake up and your find yourself back in this world. Take their advice and use it to wisely guide your life. It is sacred communication.

They already know. They're around us all the time.
If that's not good enough for you then try this. Before you go to bed pray to God for a visit. That may sound silly to you but we do astral travel at least 3-4 times a week when we sleep and that's how we visit the other side and visit with people that have passed on, and sometimes people that are still 'living'. -And that's exactly what Sylvia Brown would tell you.

You have to put yourself in a position where you are near death. Then they can hear you.
I usually drain 2.5 pints of blood from my body and chew a mouthful of aspirin. This works well.
Another good way is to hold yourself underwater for about 5 minutes. Call 911 right before you do that though so they can revive you. The real trick is not coming up for air. It takes alot of willpower.

If you want to speak to a deceased relative - I believe they are probably out there and if they want to listen they will
it depends often on what you want to ask, there is no point trying to speak to them if you believe in your hearts of heart that they cannot hear you.
I often speak to my grandad when I'm feeling low, just asking questions out loud or tell him my thoughts... does he listen? - i think so, otherwise I would have given up ages ago

You can't. One can only hope they are in a position to, or feel inclined to listen. You cannot 'get' your dead relative do anything-you do not have that power!

Oh they are the easiest relatives to get along with, sadly is because they are dead, that make it so easy.

They must want to speak to you. Usually they approach you instead of you summoning them.
My father came to tell me a message he didn't get to say before he died. It was not only very cool, it was very soul-cleansing and peaceful.
