I don't think anyone understands the lyrics but it's not so much the lyrics but the music.

I don't get a lot of it either. Kurt Cobain was actually more into the melody of the music than the lyrics. I think my favourite Nirvana song is Lithium or Serve The Servents.

Well, Nirvana has many awesome songs. Yeah, i don't understand much of it. i like the song 'Dumb". i think it's about him and how he felt. Remember from his suicide note that he couldn't bare to fake it anymore. I think the line I'm not like them but i can pretend, stands for all the years where he faked liking to play music infront of many people i also like the song "smells like teen spirit". kurt Cobain did prefere to play his gigs at small places. he'd rather play in front of 5 people rather than 500 people in big stadiums.
I love Nirvana.

My favorite song by them is Sliver and you can understand all of the lyrics, and it's pretty funny to. Also it doesnt sound like the typical Nirvana song.

I like a bunch of their songs. I actaully understand most of the lyrics... my one favorite would have to Polly. That song is totally f*cked up... and I know all the lyrics to Teen Spirit and that's a pretty good song too. oh heck... i really don't have a fave because I like pretty much all their music and I understand most of the their lyrics

my fave Nirvana song was always Rape Me ...it had an edge to it that was way off base ..plus it got a lot of attention because of the title ..but it wasnt about kurt raping a girl ..it was anti-rape ...

after you read his journals, his "suicide note" and get to know a little more about his life and the way he felt about certain things (rape, abortion...) you'll understand his lyrics. i love heart-shaped box because it really explains how his marriage with courtney was. my favorite songs are dive, you know you're right (even if i don't understand the lyrics), turnaround...i like almost every song...they're all amazing.
