Hello Rebel, Try practicing in a level parking lot where you don’t have other vehicles to worry about. Let the clutch out till you first start to feel contact. Do that a bunch of times till you know by feel where that point is exactly. Next see if the car will take off if you let the clutch out gently from there. Some cars will need more power than others and some clutches need to be slipped a little to take off. Avoid slipping as much as you can because that causes wear and heat from the friction. Then as you get to that contact position lightly touch the throttle and let the petal out gently further. With practice you will find that it gets easier. Once that's working, you can work of taking off from an incline. Start with very a mild incline and work up to something you might encounter out driving. Driving a stick will allow you greater control over the vehicle and the option to drive anything. A 5speed gets better MPG, cost less, and last longer than autos. Someday you will thank your parents for “making” you learn on a manual. Good luck, and Stick with it.

when you are in 1st about to start going, let the cluch out about half way until it almost feels like it is going to die. Give it slight gas and slowly let the clutch out. It will come with time. My parents made me do it too and 10 years later, I'm so glad they did cause you can drive anything after learning that. Keep practicing and good luck!

While you slowly let off the cluth you have to slowly give it gas at the same time. Get in a parking lot and do nothing but practice taking off and stopping. You'll stall it plently but you'll get the hang of it.

More gas less clutch to start up-especially if the car is at an angle with the back end of the car lower. GAS IT BABY!
