He'll be a good scorer if he is surrounded by guys that can attract double teams so he can get open looks. He is not very good at creating his own shot. Orlando should fit his talents nicely with Howard and Nelson taking some heat off of him.

He is a great shooter. One could compare his shot to Ray Allen. He has a lot of talent but potential is the biggest thing. For example Dwayne Wade wasn't great coming into the league but now he's great and the Finals MVP. Redick is with a good team. Howard should draw a lot of double teams and if he can find Redick open he can make quite a contribution to the Magic.

Remember Steve Kerr? Not quite that good. Remember that he played for Duke. Other than Hill and Brand, and to a lesser extent Leattner Duke players have been nothing but average or less in the NBA. Coach K doesn't develop them very well.

it depends all on his back
if his back lets him do what he wants then redick is going to be a strong shooting gaurd with 15 points a game
if the back gives up on him,
youll see a redick that comes off the bench, maybe 6-7 points a game

I think he will be okay as long as he does not get injured. He will really have to work on his footwork and defense to play significant minutes though. He isn't as quick as Rip Hamilton and Reggie Miller who are/were both pure shooters but could get open and run around screens to get open and could drive more. So, I would not expect a big season from him..but modest totals.

Jameer Nelson will feed him the ball and Dwight Howard will draw some defenders in the lane. He should be able to get some open looks around the perimeter.

In my opinion, I believe that he will have a very easy time in the NBA. At Duke, he got doubled heavily and he was the center of attention. The gameplan of the other team involved stopping JJ. So in the NBA, the Magic got Dwight Howard and he creates double teams which will lead JJ wide open.

i think he will do good. with so many underclassmen and high schoolers that went to the nba, his talent should help him be on their level, if not better. he might struggle against the premier guards, but there are so many average players in the nba, that he will do fine.

I think he is going to have a much tougher time in the NBA. If you get a hand in his face, he is going to miss. I don't think he'll be around very long.

JJ was a great player in the NCAA. But he'll have to make a huge jump to have any impact with any team.
