I really asked this question:

What do we have to do now to win in Iraq?
Can anyone explain what exactly has to be done by American troops
at this point to allow the new Iraqi government to function on its own?

NOT ONE CONSERVATIVE PROVIDED A DAMN THING WORTH REPEATING.That proves it.It's all about using war to feel tough and justify hatefulness with the conservatives, and its all about peace with the "liberals" of all stripes.
Thanks therandman for confirming that YOU HAVE NO ANSWER.

Gonna sleep good tonight with a clear conscience.Thanks.

yes, therandman is quite 'liberal' with his non-answering of questions. At least he's brave enough to try, and leave his contact info...the rest don't even usually show up to the intelligent questions

EDIT: case in point...the guy above me

therandman...I'm getting to you, honey! Patience! (I hope you are better than this in bed, or poor mrs. man) First, I'd like to hear about your strategy. Details. Then, if you read up enough on me, or contacted me directly, I could have answered you. I am a chef, I got that way by being a cook, and then going to school. Then, I worked my way up through the male-dominated ranks to become an executive chef. Nobody was hurt in this process, except one boyfriend, now ex. SO, If I were commander in chief, I imagine I would become a soldier, go to school , and work my way up through the ranks. All different from our current president. And thanks for calling me princess. I have such a hard time defending myself against all of you, ahem...'sword wielders', it's nice to hear some gentle words. Now, no more questions. You need to start giving answers and stop whining. For god's sake, you sound like a democrat! lol

You're an absolute idiot and I will say it again. We have a course of action to win the peace and get the troops home. What in the hell is your solution since you liberals are all smarter than us?

Oh now Hedi wants to jump on the bandwagon. Well princess what is your solution? Do you need me to tell you what needs to be done? Oh I know why don't we just CUT & RUN!!

David C - Where's the name calling on this post?

Liberals - you can't stand a little of your own medicine can you? All I did was answer a a question with a question. That is another play call for liberals who can't win a debate on emotion. Once again we have a exit plan - just because it dosen't fit your timeframe or agenda doesn't mean it is wrong.

You liberals on this site are an embarrasment to true democrates such as Benny from the original question. Read his answer and see what a real American is.

The phrasing of this question does not lend to civil discussion. HOWEVER<

I read the original question and here is Benny's response:

"I'm here in Iraq. This war is being run by the opponets....everyone is so worried about being politically correct. The best thing to do is to kick the media out....and let the military do what it has to do, without all the media, the politics, and the therapists trying to interfere. Had they not interferred, then we'd all be back at home by now. Although I don't agree with the war.......it's here so we just as soon win it. I really think some news agencies and some people should be prosecuted for giving out classified information on the news...and showing classified locations on their cameras. Good thing I'm not the president."

So, his response is to kick out the media (thereby trusting the Pentagon, which lied about Abu Ghraib, Jessica Lynch, and tried to cover up about Pat Tillman) to supply our info on the subject, oh, and to let the military do their thing.

This pretty much begs the original question, which was "How do we win in Iraq, or similar?

The answer is, we will never know. For one thing, Bush has never clearly defined the criteria under which "victory" can be claimed. When "terrorism" is defeated? That will never happen. Terrorism is as old as humanity. Does he intend to stay until the last "radical" Muslim is dead? Might take decades, and buckets of blood on both sides. When the Iraqi "government" is up and running? Well, then, why are we building permanent bases in Western Iraq?

If US troops leave, you are going to likely have one of two things: another Iran, or another Yugoslavia (Kurds vs. Shiites vs. Sunnis vs. Al Qaeda). It will take years before the Iraqi "government," if they ever agree on one, can field enough loyal troops to fight without US help.

The fact is, Bush has stepped our collective foot into this pile of poo and there is no foreseeable way to scrape it off. Removing the media has nothing to do with it except allow the secretive Bush admin. to perform more sleight-of-hand with the truth.

Not as dumb as you! Why don't you read your question, or should I say statement instead. I think you need to get beack to school to learn how to phrase a question. Also, Get your money back from the school you already attended. It's people like you that can't form a thought without being hateful, not me. By the way, when Saddam Hussein refused to let inspectors in all the years that Clinton was in power, which he did nothing about, why wouldn't you think he was making WMD's? He's already gassed his own people that were found in mass graves, but according to you I guess that's okay. What you are saying is that he shouldn't have been held accountable for the treaty he signed stating that UN inspectors would be allowed to come into his country and inspect to see if he was following the treaty. He thumbed his nose at Clinton for eight years. It should have been taken care of a long time ago and we wouldn't even be there right now.

What part of same answers that several people gave you don't you get? The plan is (and always has been) we give Iraqis the chance to elect leaders, build their country (You will note that I did not say rebuild because most of the damage that we did has been repaired), build up a military and train them to fight the terrorists. Then and only then will our job be done. We are doing that now. The only thing is that I have to talk to people who were there in order to get the real story. The run away press only reports the bad news there. We are doing a lot of good things.

Let me ask you this, General Pinkflowers, why do we still have troops in S. Korea? I mean, that war was started by a Democratic president, and we are still there, acting as a human trip-wire no less. So our boys and girls are there defending a country that has been fully functioning for decades. Why?Why?Why?

Ahh, that confirms it, liberals are for symbolic acts and window dressing, while conservatives are for concrete answers and actions and consequences.

I can sleep good tonight knowing that our military is NOT filled with pansies like you

I asked a question a few days ago asking Conservative to outline what the plan is in Iraq.

They are always asking what the Liberal plan would be and complaining that all liberals do is whine, yet when posed with the question "What is the plan, aside from 'Stay the Course'?"

Not ONE of them provided an answer.

They have no plans either and they scream at liberals to cover up the fact that their war is a failure (no fault of the soldiers - entirely the fault of its planners).

It seems many have already answered your question. OK, you really don't have a question, as much an opinion. My answer is a little broader. We use our influence (including our military) to protect US interest, safety and rights. You in particular should be glad our government exist. Your ramblings would not be tolerated, accepted or discussed in many countries around the world. I am sure you will now respond with some sort of "witty" personal attack on my answer. To that I say "God Bless America"

Without reading any of the high quality banter that must have been in your first question, my quess is that you don't wish to repeat it because it is too intellectual for your tiny liberal speck of grey matter. It is easy to be against war. It is a difficult decision to put young people in harm's way on a foreign land. When you have the answers, I am sure you will be president instead of spending all day at your computer hoping to have your name remembered!

To answer your main question, yes. Repuke's are that dumb. What do we have to do to win the war in Iraq. We have won it. We have found all the weapons of mass destrution (0) We have ousted their dictator (Saddam) we are now just there to be in the middle of their civil war. If we leave today, or 100 years from now they will have their civil war and decide who and how they will be led. It is a no win for us to stay any longer.
