Ok, some good rock songs that include a female singer:
- Lacuna Coil (Here's an interesting fact! 104.9 in Auburn, AL was the first radio station in the US to play them on radio!)
"Our Truth" and "Heaven" are great songs!
- Within Temptation (Many people have never heard of them, but the few taht have like them better than Lacuna Coil)
"Memories" is a good song!
- Flyleaf (Great band, but I like Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation's sound better!)
"I'm So Sick" is pretty good!
Well, some good rock songs that include a male singer:
- Taproot (One of my favorite bands because I like the lead singer's voice)
"Poem" and "birthday" are my favorite songs from this band!
- Dark New Day (They are from Arkansas and I only know one person that has heard of them, but they are soo damn good!)
"Peices" and "Brother" are awesome songs!
- System of a Down (I have to include these guys because they're my favorite band and should be on everyone's list!)
Basically everything they play, but my favorite songs are "B.Y.O.B," "Question!," "Chop Suey," and "Lonely Day"
I could list all of my favorite bands that people should listen to, but I don't think you would want to read something that's at least 10 pages long, haha! Anyway, I listed 3 of each! I hope this helps!

there are lots of girl bands, you just gotta look harder for them.
Vixen-hot 80's hair/girl band
Lita Ford another hot 80's hair/girl (great guitar player)
Antigone Rising-new folk rock type stuff
Pat Benatar
Just to name a couple, also check into country based rock, many more there
