I want to get a tattoo that is just slightly darker than my skin, so that people will see it and not be sure if they are seeing a tattoo or an unusual birthmark. I just wanted to know if ink could be mixed to look that way.

What a neat idea! Sounds a lot more interesting than some of the neon bright tattoos so many people wear. Subtle is always fun. You can get a tattoo in any colour you want, and in fact, some people get skin coloured tattoos to cover up birthmarks.

I'm sure an artist could do it, but what if you got a sunburn? Your tattoo would blend in with the rest of your skin and sun also messes up tattoos. So when your skin got lighter in the winter, you would probably be able to tell that your tattoo had changed. I still have tan lines from the sunburn I got last summer.

Yes you can, almost all tattoo parlors now have what they call flesh tone inks and they are made just usually for covering tattoos and to make it look like ones skin without surgery.

Why would you wanna have some man-made funky birthmark looking tatttos on your body?

Baby go with your heart. If you ain't sure about gettting one then just forget the whole thing. Tattoos are nasty in my opinion.

Not sexy on girls.

Why would you want to get a tattoo to look like a birthmark...?

I don't see why not. But you would always have to maintain that exact skin tone, or else your careful color mixing will be rendered useless.
