Ok.... I found him on www.meganslaw.com, so he is regestered. He was convicted of lewed and lascivious acts with a child under 14. I don't care how "small" the crime is, he is still a sex offender!!
I have already printed some fliers with his pic from that website..... is it legal to distribute them?

I think it depends on what state you are in as to how you can let others know. This person might be on a registry website or the local/county police website where you can guide others to that answer.
WERE IT ME, I would tell every neighbor with children or who might have children visit them about this monster no matter the consequences. Sometimes what is morally right isn't entirely legal and protecting your and other people's children is far less a crime than hurting this person's "self-esteem".

As a concerned parent, I think you should make sure, (through law enforcement there in your town), if it is in fact true. Then educate yourself so you don't make a horrible mistake. If I am arrested for prostitution I am a "sex offender". If me and my wife have sex out side, I am a "sex offender". If I use the bathroom out side, I am a "sex offender". If it is consensual sex, and my partner lies and gets a good attorney, and I get convicted I am a "sex offender". All "sex offenders" are not child molesters; furthermore, Most sex offender pedophiles, know there victim. Most of the time it's a family member, friend or baby sitter. It's important to be aware of the facts and know what you are dealing with. You could waste energy and effort motivated by fear and some one who you don't even suspect does the unthinkable.

By law the residents should have been notified that a sex offender was living in the building. Check with the local PD to see if the person is registered as a sex offender. If it turns out that they aren't there are legal repercussions that could follow. As far as legal goes, I don' t think there are any issues with you warning neighbors with a friendly knock on the door.

You can legally let this information be known, as long as it is true. If I were in your situation I might think about posting a flyer near the mailboxes for everyone to see, and also telling people by word of mouth. That kind of news travels fast. Plus, if the sex offender knows everyone knows, he might stay on his best behaviour or move the hell out

Do you know that he abused children? Sex offender covers a wide range of crimes, and some may not be that serious. Besides, sex offenders that have abused children usually aren't allowed to live near them, such as a family housing community. You could ask your landlord before spreading something dangerous.

Yes, how do you know it wasn't from 10 years ago and it may have been just a case of a parent claming stationery rape. Then you just persecution this poor devil. I would look up the offense or ask the management because they probably already know.
Let thy with out sin case the first stone.

You should just come out and tell them, I'm sure they will be glad to know. The more you wait the greater change something will happen and it will weigh on you conscious for knowing and not telling. Just don't tell them you've know for sometime, that will piss them off.
You can also find out about other offenders by going to familywatchdog.us

You can print his name and picture from the sex offender online registry and pass those out to your neighbor.
Obviously you aren't doing anything illegal, you didn't make up the paper nor take his picture. It's already on there for public display.

Put up posters and signs with the persons picture and maybe they will just leave the building full of embarrassment.

Just tell them? I have two kids and I would DEFINATELY want somebody to let me know. If you feel like you can't tell them straight out maybe you can suggest they check out a website like familywatchdog.us or www.nsopr.gov.
