is it just me or have divorces been more common lately? its sad how marriages dont last, including my parents. they were married for 14 years, but my dad was pretty controlling, so im glad my mom got out of it when she did. hes remarried now, but im worried that wont last either. im comfortable with having a split/blended family, but it was hard at first.

I am almost 25 and when my parents got a divorce I was 3 and to this day I remember the whole night like it is the back of my hand. I do know that they are better off as friends then a couple, but it really made me be sure of the person I married and had children with. I know I can never put my children through what I went through. Very pain full.

My parents divorced when I was five years old. I remember them fighting almost all of the time before my dad moved out. The strange thing is after the divorce was final they were the best of friends. When my dad came to visit me and my brother he would stay at the house and we all (including my mom and step dad) would go out to dinner and always had a good time. I don't remember my parents being uncivil or mean to each other once they were divorced.

Divorced for a few years, my girls were of adult age when I confronted the wife about her affair, mistake #1, I should have kept the details more private from everyone involved but when you learn your love has been betrayed its hard to keep low key about it.

WEll my parents got divorced when I was strating my tee years. it sucked emotionally and monitary, my mom struggled to get through with us but she accomplished it, so I'm proud of her. I dont hate my dad, at first I did, but I forgave him because I realized that hes not perfect, no dads are, whether they let you see it or not, they are human beings and they do make mistakes with us kids. I dont keep a close relationship with him, and that was my fault because at first I pushed him away, but now and them when his parents have BBQ's hes there and we hugg and talk about whats going on...so its cool!

My childhood was a nightmare until my parents divorced when I was 10. My father was an alcoholic who beat his wife and kids, and I was so relieved when my mom finally left, because I thought he was going to kill her.
