Don't give up, if you have something good, keep at it. Unless you really stink, then quit. But anyway, it takes a lot of commitment, so if you can't handle it, don't make the rest of the band suffer, also it could be a long time before you r band reaches anywhere close to the top, so don't give up. Also, be true to yourself, and don't change the whole band to w/e is in at the time, if your punk, stay punk, don't change just because rap is in. and always stay positive!

Advertise a bunch, get your name out there. Offer to do community gigs or party's and clubs for free, I know that sucks, but it gets the word out. sometimes you have give up the money to find the fame.

if the band is ready to tour and is willing to just be out there,
because that's what it is all about, no one will look out for your band but the band. gotta be ready. blood, sweat, and tears.

PRACTICE A LOT and get a lot of gigs at like, anywhere w/ open mic and stuff! Every opportunity you can get, do it!

learn to "read" your crowd - do stuff they respond to and save the "dead" stuff for requests
