I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. But no, you shouldn't just believe everything you hear.

I usually go with my gut instinct. If I feel like their lying to me, I don't pay them any attention.

If I find out that they did lie to me, I take everything they tell me with a grain of salt.

Well, i can't tell you to believe them or not because you didn't tell us what they say. If it's something nice, then believe them. If it's mean, and you know better, then don't believe it for one minute. You are smart, and a woman, you know the difference between what is real and what is not!

Consider it an opinion. It might be valid, it might not. Each one has to be looked at. If it gives you something to help you improve yourself, use it. If it hurts your feelings, resolve never to say it to someone else. If it's flattery (you're pretty, etc.), keep up the good work but don't let it make you vain.

Yes, I'm telling you that you should always believe what people tell you, except what I'm telling you right now.

It's naive to always believe what people tell you, but to never believe what people tell you? That seems extreme and unhealthy.

Something I learned a long time ago. " Believe nothing of what you hear, and only half of what you see"

Of course not-although that doesn't mean you should disbelieve
everything either. Try a little moderation in your responses.
