You are doing the right thing. Always seek other opinions about anything anyone says (or writes) to you. People have varying opinions, some are right, some are questionable, and some are downright wrong.
Even if you ask 10 people about a certain topic, you should still have doubts--and do some research for yourself until you are sure you have the right answer.

A little cynicism is good for you. For instance... don't believe the stuff you hear in commercials, or for that matter, take everything you hear on TV with a grain of salt.
Even with friends/acquaintances, it's good to doubt a little, as the first answerer said. But make the distinction between a trustworthy person and a person you're not sure about -- it's also good to have a circle of people you trust.

Some skepticism is good, a lot is bad.
Just try to double check what people tell you and try to figure out who has the better record in telling the truth.
Remember, this is the age of information and double or triple checking your facts is as easy as picking up the phone, surfing the web or turning the TV on.

NO not at all, the sad truth is most people are full of SH*T. I've wasted many years in the club scene. I'm very trusting, and have been screwed over way to many times to count by people who swore that they loved me and were my best friends. Really if your going to believe in anything believe in your gut instinct. I wish I did alot

Sure, I believe you should take everything with a grain of salt. But I generally give people the shadow of a doubt until I find out otherwise. Then I'm usually untrusting of them until they prove they can be trusted again.

you are sitting at a computer where you can obtain tons of information and find out facts for yourself. I do not usually believe anything I hear until I look it up myself n I suggest that for others as well.
