Get more sleep. On average most people need 8 hours of sleep each night. Some people need more, some people need less. Obviously you need more.
If you want a more peaceful sleep try working out 2-3 hours before bed time. That should make you tired enough to pass out at bed time.
You might have sleep apnea and aren't getting a restful sleep;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_apnea
Cut out the caffine and cut back on the sugar. You're body will become reliant on these stimulants...causing sleep problems. (It's a cycle).
One suggestion is don't eat right before bed. My rule of thumb is don't eat after dark. Food is converted to energy. You won't be needing energy late at night.
Be weary of taking vitamins. There are certain vitamins that cannot be broken down by your body..these can actually destroy your organs. Same goes for herbal remedys. Check with your doctor before taking any of this.
I don't suggest sleeping pills because these cause your body to take in less oxygen. Hypothetically speaking if you OD on sleeping pills the method of death is suffocation. I read a study stating that sleeping pills shave years off your life.
Try doing it the natural way, if that doesn't work see your doctor before you screw up your body.
Good Luck.

Fluctuations in your blood sugar are causing your tiredness and crashes. Yes, Vitamin C works!! And so does Vitamin B. Some things that will give you an instant, long lasting and healthy burst of energy (consider taking at day break and on your lunch break, around 12:30 p.m.) are Source of Life Liquid Vitamins and Emergen-C vitamin C packets (add to water). I am not into gimmicky things and have tried to steer clear of caffeine because the diuretic effect and the crash after the high. I have the same exact day schedule as you. You MUST do the 30 minutes of exercise and if you can wake up around 5:00, take your supplements, drink about a quart of cold water then work at a high level or in intervals, you will be ENERGIZED from 5:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. daily. I promise. Also, be sure to drink a total gallon of water per 100 pounds you weigh each day. That helps to metabolize the energy and vitamins in the food you consume. Orange juice spikes blood sugar dramatically, but if you feel like you're about to fall over, try that. And one banana has enough energy to sustain you for 2 hours straight.
Sincerely,
An often times tired person with lots of energy when I practice what I preach ;-D

I use goji and below is the reason. It is NOT an energy drink and does NOT have caffeine in it. Within the first two days I didn't need my afternoon nap. You can purchase it at: http://www.healthierandfree.freelife.com
The Bovis Energy Scale
Thanks to a French researcherin the 1930's by the name of Antoinee Bovis, we have a means to measure the "life force" or "natural earth energy" present in water, plants, rock formations and the like. For example, human beings show a reading on the Bovis scale of 6,500. Scientific research has correlated the clockwise or right spin of atoms and molecules with a Bovis reading below 6,500 is neutral for human life (ie.life-deplating), and anything registering about 6,500 is essentially energy invigorating or enhancing to us.
Bovis Energy Rating:
Goji - 355,000
Noni - 17,000
Sea Silver - 24,000
Limu plus - 54,000
Xango - 53,000
Himalayan Goji juice shows a reading of 355,000...the highest reading that many health professional have ever reported receiving. A truly amazing product!! Be careful though, there are other knock-off goji products out there. You need to make sure it has a 'spectral signature' on the bottle showing that it actually has the 4 naturally occurring bioactive polysaccharides that account for all the energy. Alot of the knock-off gojis only have 1 or 2 polysaccharides.

Wow! You've had a lot of responses. I agree with the majority. You do need more sleep in your day. Exercise would help, but the best exercise for you is the one you will do. It helps to have a buddy and it is a good environment for your child to see his/her parent exercising for your health. Cutting out caffiene and drinking half your body weight in oz of water everyday would help. And my # 1 suggestion is eat more raw fruits and vegetables and if you can't get the recommended 9-13 servings everyday, try Juice Plus. It is 17 fruits and vegetables in a capsule, chewable or gummie form. It is backed by medical research, which helped me to take it since I am in the medical field as an Occupational Therapist and skeptical. For more info check out the link below. A lot of people tell me the first thing they notice is increased energy. Best of health to you!

I know, I know I read the last sentence but seriously I don't trust energy drinks myself. However, there is an energy drink called SX. And wow, it is amazing. Kinda like Red Bull but it's less... uh, it's more healthy. I drink it one morning and dude, I was up and running around doing my chores without getting tired.
But then again, it's all to do with the mind, I kept a positive mind that I'm more energetic today. Some people just sit on their butts and wine about less energy... when they could simply get up and have a good mind.
Good Luck to you!

Do you constantly suffer from a personal energy shortage? If you’re juggling the demands of a busy career and being the perfect family person, it’s not surprising that you may lack some luster on the energy front.
If it’s any consolation, you’re not alone. In fact, lack of energy is the most common health complaint among adult Americans.
Lifestyle habits are usually to blame for this deficit in dynamism, and one of the biggest culprits is not getting enough regular exercise. Routine physical activity is key to maintaining increased energy levels. Want to be revitalized? Try our five-step "activity makeover" and you’ll actually feel your energy levels soar.

I know the 14 month old won't help much, but try to get some more sleep if you can. Make sure that where you sleep is quiet and as dark as you can make it.
Also, try getting more exercise. Go for walks, jog, swim, ride a bike, do something that gets your heart rate up.
After awhile you will have more energy.
If that fails then I would ask your doctor.

I'm taking an all-natural liquid supplement that helps me with my energy. I, too used to be tired all the time. So, much so sometimes I couldn't hardly sit up.
It tastes really good too. My energy levels have gone way up and I feel great!
How long have you been suffering from tiredness? What have you taken to help you with it?
If you would like to know more information about the liquid supplement you can email me at health_is_essential@yahoo.com

vitamin B6, B12 and C. Try a good multi-vitamin too. Make sure you eat a balamce high protein diet. Get enough fiber, try to cut out the bad carbs as much as possible. Eat alot of fruit, especially those with anti-oxidents..blueberries,cranberries.(keeps urinary tract in great shape...you can buy them dry now called craisins)rasberries.Omega 3 fatty acids? they can even boost your mood, its like getting brain food, boosts the memory,so eat more fish like salmon and tuna.It will help boost the mood and will give you a little more energy and motivation.Use olive oil instead of vegetable oil in cooking. Its much healthier.keeps the cholesterol lower and arteries running smooth.plus it adds a better flavor to foods.
The best thing is to have healthy snacks around when you dont have time to eat..baby carrots(beta carotene)..celery, with a little peanut butter for protein..whole wheat toast with a veggie spread0ranes or apples..cut a pineaple and keep that in the fridge for a cold snack.. or a salad.i prepare salad with all my favorite veggies and have it already in a tupperware conainer. I add a couple of grape tomatoes and some homemade croutons..made from wheat bread..then top it with my favorite italian dressing and its refreshing and filling. Most of all healthy. I cut out almost all the red meat out of my diet. I dont eat pork anymore..i try to watch my portion size so i dont feel so full and get lazy..but really, more fruits an veggies actually work and help youir body function better too, which automatically gives you more energy.Eat the fruits and veggies you like the best and alot of them. You'll see the difference. Drink plenty of water instead of sweetened drinks and less caffeine too.Cut it out completely if you can..or at least cut down. It only gives you a false rush of energy but you end up crashing harder for drinking it.( Rest is essential to you so get a nap or go to bed early when you can. I know how difficult it is for you having a job and a 14 month old to take care of, but you have to take care of your body so you can take care of him. Eat healthy, rest A.M.A.P!..Rest as much as possible! walking works wonders ,just short walks when you can..meditate your mind and take in the scenery..plus its something you can do with your son too.Good luck!
Dont forget to take a good multi-vitamin too. Hope you get your energy back..

If your son naps during the day, go along with em. A good nap during the day will do a lot more for ya than energy drinks. I'm guessing you don't do soda/coffee much..but I really like Vault, it kicks like an energy drink but it's a tasty soda..almost like Dew but better.
