You could answer one of his questions, if and when he posts one. In a side note, you could make a gesture that you would like to communicate.
You could write a comment in an old question he posted earlier: with some luck, he will check up on the comments being posted.
You could ask a question, that he might be inclined to answer, if he does, you could select his answer as best. When he checks to see what answer he got points for: he will see any comments you may have left for him.
Any more effort, may be a bit much.
