i have kind of a big nose. it doesn't make me look ugly or anything but i think i'd look better if i could make it look smaller. Is there any kind of makeup or technique that would work reasonably good?

yes. I don't have a BIG nose either but I do things to make it appear a touch smaller. First -- I am assuming you use some sort of concealer. If you don't, go out an buy some that is a shade lighter than your base color or natural skin tone. Apply that to the tip of your nose and rims of your nostrils - blending well so you don't look like you have a glob of make up on your nose!!! Next sweep some down the bridge (the length of your nose but only right in the center). Again - blend well. Next if you still want a more defined and slimer look, take a neutral toned eyeshadow and LIGHTLY brush down the length of your nose bones. This will give you a somewhat smaller and more defined nose. :)

Accentuate your best feature.
Don't put on globs of makeup; natural is the key.
Make sure you've got the right foundation for your skintone.
If you have oily skin, make sure you have a good powder. Dior makes a fantabulous finishing powder that is made with rice, instead of corn -- corn tends to dry out the skin. It is touted in magazines as "taking away the shine but leaving all the sheen." It's awesome.

Hope this helps.

you could draw attention to your eyes by using a great eyeshadow...

i definitely recommend true colors makeup. it is made of michah (don't know how to spell that) so it is really powdery and will last 3-5 years! depending on how you put it on, you can make it lighter or darker, and you can mix and match shades too. you can even dip the brush in some water before you put it on for a really metallic party look... this stuff rocks. i bought it at the mall but i don't know if it is sold everywhere so here is their website:

Get a nose job, lol jussttt kiddingg. Try really accenting your eyes, or a really glossy lip. Never under-estimate the power of distraction!!

get a sheer liquid foundation and some liquid concealer....first dab a Small amount of a yellow under tone concealer form one nostril to the other.... keep doing it and work your way up....your nose should look yellow....now you grad the foundation the best fits your skin tone and put it in your nose to cover the concealer.....make sure to cover it well...and you should be fine...good luck and God bless/

I heard if you put a little bit of blush on the bottom it makes it look slightly smaller.

Well, when it comes to eyeshadow, and you would like to bring out the color of your eyes, always choose a shadow that is on the opposite side of the color wheel from the color of your eyes. For instance, if your eyes are blue, then wear a shadow that has a hint of orange, as orange is on the opposite side of the color wheel to blue. :)
