Your gears are sluggish which is noticeable when ac is on. I just recently lost my reverse and have the same problem when ac is on. I gear down to 2nd and it drives smoother. Yes you need to go to get a diagnostics test at a transmission shop (I did yesterday). They should do it for free. I've already spoken with different contacts for pricing. Depends on your vehicle and they will have to go into the transmission and look at everything and how worn they are. They can only give ballpark figures since they don't know exactly what needs to be replaced. Prices could go anywhere from $1,200.00 - $2,000.00. It should take a few days for the shop to do. Good luck.

Not enough information. What was the transmission doing, whining, lurching, slipping? What else is the car doing? It is your car, have you had it serviced, are the spark plugs overdue for replacement? Are are you just looking for an instant answer to your negligence?
