I am scheduled for surgery at the end of August & am a little nervous. I know what I have read, but I am wondering what others have experianced - not just the clinical but how you felt before & after, recovery time, actual pain involved...and how you felt after the recovery?

Thanks!

I had a breast reduction a month ago. I am still in the recovery period, but I am SO happy with my decision! The results are gorgeous and my back doesn't hurt anymore!

The first week after the surgery was great! I stayed in bed and relaxed. I didn't have ANY pain, even when I didn't take my pain medication. It was only mild discomfort, no pain at all, and I am VERY sensitive to pain. It was mostly just a tight feeling and bending over was hard. Otherwise, I was able to reach normally. It took about two weeks before I could lift the normal amount of weight again.

The second week was a bit worse. Still no pain, but the tape comes off and you have to start cleaning the incisions. It doesn't hurt, but it's very unpleasant. Everything just feels a little weird and numb and doesn't look very pretty, though you'll have a good idea of the size of your breasts by then.

I am in week five now. Everything in life is back to normal, except I put Mederma on my scars twice a day and hydrocortisone cream at night, because I'm having a bit of itching due to the healing. But everything is great! I still have vague scars around my nipples, but they're really hardly noticeable and I think they'll be virtually gone eventually.

Don't be nervous! It's a very easy and fairly pain-free surgery, and you will be so thrilled with the results! Enjoy!

I had the surgery about 14 months ago. Everyone has a different experience. I'll agree, the surgery was well worth all the pain and suffering. I stayed medicated, set alarms for meds. I'd recommend keeping clear liquid Benadryl, arnica pellets, arnica gel, vitamin c tabs on hand in addition to the ice packs, antibiotics, and pain meds. You'll want to have a little of everything on hand, just in case.

Itching and (shooting) nerve pain began for me when they took out my sutures and stitches and my nipples and nerves figured out what was going on. It's not too bad, even a year later I'll get a random shooting pain. I didn't heal well, thick scars that have had to be treated with steroid injections into the scars, even the nipples, lasers, and now a compounded scar gel. My shape is so great that People think I have implants. I'm hoping the scars flatten and fade or I'll have revision.

It is painful, but I was up in two days and prepared a full menu for 6 house guests. It's manageable.

I had this surgery done about ten years ago. I am so happy that I did! If you researched your surgeon well, you should be fine. Recovery time is long, the scars initially are traumatizing, and the pain the first week is horrible. You'll need a month to stop feeling pain. The scars will take about six months to heal. Most of the time, they don't go away competely. But, if you are really big, and have been suffering from it, you won't care. The sensitivity in your nipples and breasts should be intact if your surgoen id good. The reality if, though, you won't want to be touched there for three months or so. But how wonderful you'll feel finally to be able to wear any top you want...

Get breast reduction surgery in India.Cosmetic Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance or by NHS in UK.They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible.

As a doctor i personally believe that your cosmetic surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done, you are better off getting it done in India.

my cousin got her breast reduction/liposculpture/buttoc... lift surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare.she is more than very happy with the results.she just paid 30% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise fore this forerunners healthcare company.i personally have seen the wondeful results and am particularly impressed with the kind of quality care she got from this company.hope this helps
