I hate slapstick, and any humour which is against any social minority, and all the things where anyone gets hurt (cos it's not funny). I love barmy things like Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy and Monty Python.(especially The Life Of Brian)

Nothing that is funny can be offensive; I think humour expresses the truth and that is what is so funny about it. If something is offensve then its generally not funny and just said to provoke. So i'd say that no genuine humour is annoying to me:)

I don't care for crass humor. You know where people are just disgusting just for shock value. It is so a pet peeve of mine.
P.S. - I agree with you. Catty humor sucks too. The person running the other person down usually has very low self esteem and seeks the approval of others. Those kinds of people are easily hurt (they can dish it, but can't take it).

Yeh i agree with you some people will be prepared to snigger in your face and find it amuzing that they are somehow better off than you are.
These type of people tend to put you down in front of other people and make themselves look big.
The truth is that they are jealous of your comfortable living attitude, the fact you dont need a shiny car to get to a-to-b, you dont need to have a degree in law to work in the local police advice centre, the fact you can be carefree and not worry about the competive lifestyles that people tend to seek, you are happy with what you got and who you are. And they simple dont like it.
They want to make your life seem miserable and poor to make them look superior and better, the truth is that you are the better person for ignoring the behaviour they crave for.

I really don't enjoy racist, anti-women, or anti-gay humor. People who tell those jokes always strike me as products of a bad, hurtful upbringing.
I know some people tell such 'jokes' as a form of bravado, but there are lots of other ways to make yourself feel better that don't come at the expense of others.

The kind that's not funny. Everyone needs to be able to laugh at themselves. Go ahead, tell a "bald joke". If it's funny I'll laugh. If it's not - back to the drawing board.

Some of the clips shown on American Funniest Videos are just not funny at all to me. Especially when you see people get hurt.
They make me cringe instead of laugh.
The old banana slip is just so cliché.....
Or some comedians who have to EXPLAIN the joke !

I don't like it, either. It is a particularity of the anglo saxon environment, mainly... we have to learn to live with it.
In other parts of the world, it is simply considered rude, tasteless, barbarian and a sure sign of lack of education.
