Many straight people think that being gay is something you choose. They think that we are crossdressers, and they think we're freaks. They also think the only reason we are GLBT is for sex..

WRONG. Hah, I don't like guys because of sex.. Granted, that is part of it but not even close to all of it.

They need to realize that we can't choose it. Do you think GLBT people want to be discriminated against? It's not something that can be chosen, and people need to realize that.

Also, it's not all abotu sex and they think it is.

They are not gay and they think we choose this. Also there are elements of the gay community that has no tact or even a semblance of decorum. If Gays can't act as though they know how to act in front of children then how do you expect society to accept gays. Look at any gay pride parade and ask yourself Would you take your 5 year old to see it? Would you take your 8 year old. Would you take a 10 year old? As a parent I have to tell you no I would not. this is why many are against the gay and lesbian culture.

Overall it may seem that way but its not all that accepting. Gay people still do not have the right to marry or adopt children in many states. Also there are still sodomy laws on the books in some states. Not to mention where it may seem more accepted on tv for two beautiful women to kiss, gay men still face heavy homophobia everyday and we won't even discuss trans people. Just because there are young gays and lesbians shown on MTV doesn't mean that our culture as a whole accepts the LGBT community.

Sadly people fear what they don't understand. The younger people are figuring it out that love is love and really thinking about the issue more, so over time things will change for the better for the GLBTQ world, I think. Hopefully sooner rather then later.

But on the other hand the (some people) lesbian and gay world needs to think a little more too, they are doing the same thing to bisexuals today.

That is a complicated question for me. I think most people believe in the Bible and it does say that homosexuality is an obomination to GOD, and he does frown on that behavier.

I personally would not want my children to see that and me have to explain it to them. I don't know what I would tell them, so I choose to shelter them from that.

I do on the other hand believe people are born that way and it is not a choice, but they have the ability to give in to that or not! Not really my decision to judge, GOD will be the judge in the end! So, thank goodness that is not our burden to bare! Good luck, and hope you find happiness with someone!

I'm not gay or bi; I'm very straight, but I accept them just fine. It's probably because people don't like stuff that is different or unique. You see, at first I hated my sister's tiger stripe sneakers she got a few years ago, but now I think they're awesome. I want a unique pair of shoes myself now, but perhaps I am getting to old for that stuff.

Ignorance.

I'm straight, but I know, undestand, and accept gay people. I don't think they choose to be gay. Who would want to be gay in such a discriminating society? I hope the situation changes.
