Emo is short for Emocore, a style of music that is characterized by their punk and glam roots. Those who gravitate towards this music tend to dress distinctively and have a persona that tends towards demure.

Or it means a really depressed person that feels sorry for themselves and listens to depressing music and such.

I've been called one too by some preps with popped collars. It totally bugged me because I hate labels, I'm nobody but myself. It's some kind of new fad of people who are all suicidial and listen to emo music and cut themselves all the time.

I was told the EMO was a type of music but I think they associate it crazy or suicidal people...

Don't take it seriously. If you don't even know your own, then chances are, you are not. Emo is short for emotional. Its usually used to describe someone who is non preppy or who can be a bit pestimistic. Don't worry!
