If it was the other way around, the English press would have said nothing about it and would have supported Rooney all the way. Rooney was totally in the wrong - nobody here can face that England were just not good enough to win the thing. They lost to Northern Ireland in the qualifyers for goodness sake! People should just take a reality check now and again............

Everyone blames Ronaldo for getting Rooney out and blame that for losing against Portugal. If Rooney is that good, how come he didn't score in all the time he was in the game? Makes you think? Rooney is just an overated yob.

Rooney was quite correctly red-carded, and the English fans are just making useless objections to a very right decision by the referee.
After all they don't have anything else to do now re: World Cup soccer.

As for the Portuguese Ronaldo, 'fouling' and soccer are two words that go together and blend for him. He has talent, but can't play fair.

People should forget about these players, and look to more upstanding players in this world cup like Ballack, Lahm, Zidane, O'Donko, Ronaldo (of Brazil) for praise on performance.

I have no problem with Rooney's sending off or England losing. Both got what they deserved.

Half the Portugese team including Ronaldo deserved sending off too for simulation. Not just my opinion either judging by the Ref's reaction to their dives in the France match last night.

I'm just pleased we're not getting Big Phil to manage the England team next. No one would have respected us if we did after what he has done to Portugal.

everyone is entitled to they're opinion but your opinion is incorrect!!

Ronaldo is a complete diving cheater who is amongst a number of players who are spoiling the 'beautiful game'...

Rooney is 100% committed to England/Man Utd and will give his all, sometimes he loses his head but he's still young.

At least Rooney doesn't cheat to win games.... he doesn;t have to!!!

if the scenario was to be reversed, you can guarantee that the england players would have informed the referee that a portuguese player had stamped, so why all the animosity towards ronaldo, sure he is a diver, and cissy, but such acts of violence and possible injury should not go unpunished.

first of all, i think what Rooney really needs is anger management, seriously what he did to Ricardo deserved a red card and then he pushed Ronaldo...that was uncalled for...seriously...but like Sven said we shouldn't kill him, cuz he is quite good and England does need him..
