Biocide is a catch-all term for herbicides, pesticides and those chemicals that are both.

Biocides work in different ways and the best way to determine how humans will manage exposure is to check Material Safety Data Sheets that accompany the chemical look at the toxicity data section this will refer to neat chemical and not the recommended dilution.

Since the Biocide Directive in Europe, all biocides available for use by non-commercial customers are pretty safe for humans to handle.

It depends on the biocide and the concentration and the exposure.

Salt is a biocide. It will kill plants. It will kill animals. People have died from acute salt poisoning. Mostly, we aren't too worried about being exposed to some french fries.

Many chemical biocides are dangerous to people in much smaller doses than would be needed for salt. All poisons become low hazard at a low enough concentration.

So, it really depends on the biocide and the exposure.

If you have a biocide with a stronger dilution ratio than the recommended, it would kill quicker and in a greater number both animals and plants and with humans it would be a greater intoxicant effect in some quantities it can be lethal, even if inhaled.

a biocide kills pretty much anything living. "bio" means life "cide" means kill. humans should most likely be extremely careful working around this biocide. it will surely have negative effects on you. try to wear a respirator to reduce the airbourne particles and wear gloves and goggles and the like. go by what the directions would say or by the safest dilution. its something that shouldn;t be messed around with
