No, their record makes them look better than they are...they play in the minor, I mean, national league where they have no competition. They should get to the world series, but we all know they have a history of f-ing things up for themselves.
they've got an old pitching staff, so their lead will shrink by the end of the year. Plus, Randolph is inexperienced as a manager and it shows. He gets outmanaged often. I love the team, I love the spirit they play with, but they won't win it all.

I believe the N.Y. Mets will win the National League Championship Series with a strong possibility of a 100 game winning season.
The 'x' factor = Trades + Injuries.

Ummm.....No....They will not be battle tested. They certainly have a chance of making the playoffs and winning the National League pennent, but when it comes down to it, they will not be able to beat any of the American League teams (there will be one team from the AL - central that will not even make the playoffs and still be way better than the Mets)

Well, except for one thing they could. That one thing is the Boston Red Sox. IF the Mets make to the World Series, and I think it will be the Cardinals, they will have to face th best all of baseball has to offer. The Sox would win it all in six games.
Go Red Sox!!

They can go all the way to the NL championship, but there's no way they'll sneak past whoever is the AL champ. The best of the NL is only a poor substitute for the brand of baseball that most AL teams are playing these days.
(GO RED SOX!)

Yes they will. you can tell that they have the players to do it because out of the 8 starters for the NL all star team 4 of them are on the mets and thats not including other great players like delgado nady and valetin.

The Mets have as good as a chance as anyone of winning this year, but they have to stay healthy and get another pitcher. They also have to start consistantly getting timely hits.

They are looking at trading Lastings for a good pitcher. I really hope they can find away to do it without trading him. He is part of the future. We do need more pitching and we are using the bullpen up! Wagner looks back on track, Aaron Michael Heilman is KILLING ME!

No they can't.
Here's why.
They have a first baseman that used to play for Toronto. Carlos Delgado. which I think translated to English means " interested in winning? Not Me "
He's a bad bad dude in a club house.
