I love that movie. Cried my eyes out in the theatre. Bought it the day it came out. I watch it when I need a good cry. But it's also very inspiring and eye-opening. La Vie Boheme!

I did not like the Rent movie. I'm a huge, huge fan of Rent the musical and have been since its debut. I feel like parts of the Rent movie are really good - and I love that almost all of the original cast was in it - but mostly it is disappointing. It is a very mediocre movie, when the story itself is amazing.
If you have only seen the movie and never the stage version, do yourself a favor and see it on Broadway soon!

It is awesome, of course like everything else the stage show is better. I am a geek and LOVE any stage show especially musicals. I think it has beautiful music and was more up to date than a lot of the popular ones when it came out. Tay Diggs (sorry not sure how to spell his name) is beautiful and I believe I heard somewhere he was part of the original stage play, which I think is awesome. Any reason or way to get people more into the arts I think is a good thing.

"Rent" is the movie. It was a good movie, but not really like I thought it would be. I don't think it necessarily lived up to the hype, but it will probably endure the test of time, like those 80's movies seem to have.

If you mean the movie Rent ... I think it's a beautiful movie about love, whether it be heterosexual, homosexual or just among friends. It's about having someone to love and someone to love you back so you know you are never alone. And the cast, man, what talent! Jesse L. Martin is amazing! I love that man!

I have't actually rented "RENT" - I just can't get past the fact that it's a musical. If you like those kind of movies, though, you might like The Producers with Uma Therman.

Rent?? I haven't seen it yet - the play (in NYC) was good UNTIL they started passing out all the AIDS information. (nothing against being gay - I'm Bi, but I went into the city to see a play and got bombarded with health pamphlets)

EVERYONE, IT'S THE MOVIE "RENT."
I've never seen it, but everyone I know who has loves it.
You might want to put the movie title in the question title.
