Hypothetical question about time travel?

If time travel were possible, how would this work. You would go back in time to change something.Time plays back to the time you went back, but you have alredy changed what you wanted to change, so you would not go back to change it. But since you did not go back, nothing would change. How would this work out.

If you were to go back and cause your self not to exist, how would you have gone back.

In theory, travelling through time to go to the past is impossible. Think about it. Let's say 50 years from now someone invents a time machine and goes back 75 years. someone, somewhere 25 years ago would have come in contact with the guy who travelled back in time.Have you met anyone who's come in contact with someone of the future? Have you ever heard any stories of someone meeting someone else from the future? then I guess that means that no one from the future has travelled back in time yet. And that's if you believe that our future is predetermined. I personally believe that we build the future with the present. What we do today completely changes the course of tomorrow.

hmm that is a hard one. I mean I think it would create a paradox I mean think about it. Lets says you go back well most likely you would still be stuck in a loop I mean you still at point went back so it happened if you fixed it and had no reason to go back. would that not cuase all to fall apart. or it is like back to the future were the participants are aware of the change but those not dirrectly involved nothing happens to them. Or would you live on till that moment and sort of like you had no choice do exactly what you did to go back in time. Honestly collapse of your entre universe seems more likely

Time travel works this way according to scientits, when you go back in time you take yourself and your 'history' with you. Unlike hollywood time travel where the person traveling through time is effected with any change made in the timeline, theoretical time travel as assumed by scientists says that the person travelling through time will bring with him/her thier own history but not the people effected. example here would be like say we were friends and i lent you a book yesterday and you spilled some coffee on it. if i were to go back in time today to the point before you spilled the coffee, i would in theory, bring my entire history with me right up to the point i lent you the book, this means that you'd see the me from the future but not the 'past' me. and the book i gave you is actually with me, but you've already spilled the coffee...get it.?!

well we know that no one has gone back in time because then it would have been in our history that some one travelled from the future into our past. But for the future that has not happened yet so it is still possible.

It is amazingly foolish to believe in time travel, because things are happening and they are permanent and have universal effects, which can't be controlled by humans, for example like how we have evolved as seperate races, it can't be changed but we can change the future in our material conditions. I think it is just a sad part of human consciousness that we believe in time travel as an escape from reality and to try to ignore the extreme seriousness of reality and trying to cope with reality instead of making ourselves delusional/eccentric by thinking that we control reality instead of adapting/adjusting to it live a happy life before its over.
