this is my second oujia question today...I don't think they work but I at least got scared to death when using one! Some kids decided to throw a bunch of pots and pans on the ground to scare me and my friends and they did! I peed my pants!

A "Ouiji" board is not an Urban Legend. They actually exist, you can buy them at a lot of different stores.

As to whether they work, I have a couple problems with saying they do.
How boring would it have to be to have a ghost hanging around, just WAITING for you to drag out the Ouiji Board so he or she can finally communicate?
Why do LIVING humans have to touch the planchette at all? If a ghost needed to move it, wouldnt that make it more difficult?
If the ghost can move the planchette, why cant he or she move OTHER things in the house? Is that piece of plastic with the nail in the middle easier to move than. say, someones hair?

Read the box. It even calls ITSELF a "party game". That's all it is, a way to get little shivers up and down your spine. When the planchette moves, it's living fingers moving it, dear.

I don't know for sure, but it did for me...but it could have been a coincidence or something, but I doubt it....here comes a story, hold on to your socks.

Me and 2 friends had just learned about EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) where if you run a blank tape a ghost could record something on it, so while we were playing ouija we ran a tape. we were getting really weird answers like "872woooasl" and stuff...but we played back the tape, and it went "RARRRR" once, and we listened closer and it sounded like someone was saying "OOOOOPPPPENNNNN DOOOOOOOOOORRRRR" we didn't think anything of it.....a few minutes later, I had to pee. So, I went to go to the bathroom, and my door was jammed. It wouldn't even budge, and that's never happened before. My door doesn't even have a lock on it. So we were trapped in there for 3 hours until my parents came home and broke it down...it was tons of fun. To this day, I still have a night light on in my room due to paranoia cuz ghosts are supposed to be allergic to light. Nothing has happened since then.

Its all a matter of prospective. Some people, includong myself, believe that the ouija board is a way of comunicating with spririts, much like automatic writing. Other people think that its a hoax. the idea that two people can generate energy from thier fingertips and move a glass to point out a spirits location or views is a slim one. Most people just blame the other person for pushing the glass and get in arguments over it.

If you want Ouija to truely speak you can not use any board but one you make. The board & pointer must be made of white oak. The layout can be any form you choose. The board must be very flat, very smooth & highly polished. The pointer should be very light & only large enough for two people to rest the third & fourth fingers of each hand on it, & most important the pointer MUST rest upon three stones, two are amethest & the one pointing the way emerald. If you make this board yourself, you may use it with any partner. If you & your partner make this board only the two of you may use it. Use by others defiles its power & may cause harm. Use your board respectfully & you will soon know how real Ouija actualy is.

Watch the movie "White Noise" making to sure to listen for the blurb about Ouija boards, it is said that 1 out of every 12 EVP experiences is of a violent nature - just as I believe that when you use an Ouija board you have no way of knowing whether the contacts made are benign or a malicious and yes I do believe they work but they aren't toys.

I will tell you this, DO NOT MESS WITH THEM! You see, when you ask for spirits (generalized) to do this or answer that you don't know what you're going to get. With ouja, for some reason, it always turns out to be an evil entities.

That's cute, that you're looking for scary stories, but trust me, I am a psychic, Do Not mess with that. If you're looking for answers, on your next astral trip (yes you do, we all do) go to the hall of records and look up your chart. You can also pray to God and ask your spirit guide, to do this for you too but do NOT ever, ever mess around with ouija. It's not a game.

Avoid the Ouija board if you know what is good for you. A true Ouija board can call forth things that are best left locked in their secret prisons. I myself and my group of friends have all been...harrased by things caused by ouija boards. Best to stay away.

It does work. The answers I got were very odd and not at all truth.
As I got older, I realized that while I had tapped into "something", I had no control whether that something was for good or evil. If it was evil, I wanted no part of it. You don't need to invite that stuff into your life-- life is hard enough as it is.

They don't work when I play, since I always cheat. I doubt if they have ever worked, especially the mass produced ones available now.

Why, in my day we had to make our own with burnt chicken bones and the skin off the back of a criminal! Uphill!
