I am very interested to find out and to purchase for a small project I am working on. Thanks.

Any conductive material will block the microwave energy. Usually a metal such as aluminum or steel is used. For the window a metal mesh is used. If the holes in the mesh are much smaller than the microwave wavelength, that will act as a shield as well.

i dont think that there is anything in the oven (other than whatever u put in it) to absorb the radiation as far as i know there is a grid in the front of the oven to to diffract the radiaition out of the oven so that it is of a safe dosage.

i say purchase your oven its always great to see ppl wanting to take part in science but just be carefull that u dont try to override the doors open safety switch and then turn it on the result may not be so plesent

sniff do i smell burning sulfer :P

There is a materal called echo-absorbe that is used in microwave radios to absorbe stray signals but I'm not sure what it's made of or if it's what ovens use.
