Part of the answer depends on the composition of the lens.
Is it plastic or glass, and what kinds of coating does it have?

There are a lot of good cleaners out there.
Do a Google search for "optic lens cleaner" and you'll find just about all sorts of quality products.

oh shhit! same thing happened to me but it was on my glasses, like partially smeared, and it went off after i had it soaked in the stuff that i got with the glasses - cleaner for lense with antireflective coating and then i scraped it with my fingernail and rubbing hard by the microfiber cloth for lens cleaning

is it smeared or like a blob? what kind of lens - can you soak it in something at least that you let the spot covered by a wet tissue? has it any coating like filter on the surface?

actually i know that acetone and other solvents dont damage the antireflex coat of my glasses - when i was painting something with such paint, i got sprayed over my face and then i simply tried to use the solvent for the paint to clean my poor glasses and wow, it helped

Assuming the lens is made of glass, gasoline and "cigarette" lighter fluid are excellent solvents. BUT - use caution, both flammable.

Try a very sharp scraper but use it very gently.
