I condensed a class question into this while reading the prologue to Invisible Man.

This is very clever. As far as one could be concerned, moving through life without being seen for sole purpose of manufacturing a non-existence becomes an art form. The problem, of course, is that this goes against our very nature. Furthermore, you never know who has their eye on you and who does not. You have me, for example, average f***head Jack that lives in Pennsylvania, as far as I'm concerned the little African Natives over in Zimbabwe do not exist, as far as may day to day thought process is concerned, nor do I exist in their day to day thought process. However, to go through live as an observer without being observed by others would mean that as far as the world is concerned, you do not exist, even though that the Universe is aware that you in fact do. The problem is that ever action, or non action for that matter, does have an equal and opposite reaction. Meaning, even though you may be able to sneak through life without being noticed, your purposeful non-involvement with the rest of world does carry some kind of consequence, in one form or another.

does a blind person believe this world is real? you dont need vision to see life . you still got other senses to get through. you can always be heard, if that dont work take the bull by the horns.
