If so, do you make your partner go and get what you want. And is he willing to do so?

When I was expecting my daughter I wanted chips. She does not like them. Expecting my son I wanted tomatoes, he won't look at them. Funny isn't it?

Also couldn't get enough sniffing of a certain soap powder and the smell of raw liver. YUK

not strange, but I have craved steak (which I didn't really like b4 pg), moon pies (I really didn't like b4 a couple weeks ago!), and McDonald's chicken nuggets (HAD to be McD's--nowhere else would do!)

My husband accomodated when he could, but working 2 jobs and going to school, he couldn't always. Now he just works one job part time (that will only last for a little while, though) and gets me whatever I want and cooks for me. I think a lot of it has to do with stress levels. He never really acted like he cared that much until he was able to finish school and quit a job he hated. Now he is great.

OK, All I wanted to do in my third trimester with my second daughter was jam black sharpie markers up my nose. Crazy, eh? And it didn't stop at Sharpies. I wanted to huff (inhale) dry-erase markers, finger nail polish, hand sanitizer and gasoline. I asked my OB why I would crave something that I knew was harmful to my baby and I, and he said there is really no proven answer/facts for the weird things women crave. Some say it's what your body is lacking nutritionally, but I don't see how I would be lacking the crap that's in those markers. Or cravings could be due to you socio-economic backgrounds and whether or not your single/married etc... blah blah blah... Don't feel bad if you crave something crazy. My sister craved 409, the cleaning spray. And she wanted every flavor; pine, orange, lemon and the good old blue stuff. Her husband had to hide it from her! As for your partner going to get what you want, don't count on it. It's not like the movies and it's not like TV. Not all men sit and fawn over their pregnant wives waiting to be bossed arround. If you and your partner are like most americans, you both work all day and once your home, no one wants to go out again. Now, there should be some level of understanding on his part and as long as you're not asking for something every night. My husband RARELY got me goodies, and it was a good thing because he probably saved me an extra ten pounds. If I wanted something that bad though and he wouldn't go out, I'd just waddle to my car and turn on some music and sing to my baby in my belly on our ride to the store. Enjoy your pregnancy and look at your cravings as something to laugh about later.

With my eldest now 12 nearly i craved oranges but she loves them now. My son now 8 i craved bacon wheat crunchies and he also loves them. My latest addition i craved celery and ate at least one bag of it a day and still am doing she is now 10 months old, and she chewed on celery to help her teething.Apparently celery contains a mild natural sedative ideal for teething and maybe that's why i never felt any contractions until 20 minutes before i gave birth???? Who knows?

My husband could be found many a time at 2.00am in the Tescos queue and didn't mind a bit.

I have no werid cravings - actually I have no cravings at all. I'm about 26 weeks pregnant with twins, and I heard cravings and side effects can be more intense with two, but I've not really experienced any of that, I was hoping to crave something werid that I could tell my children about but nothing so far.

Ready salted crisps, chicken korma without chicken and fruit pastilles. In that order. I also had a strange addiction to sniffing dried up gloss paint in the bottom of a tin.

Mine was spring onions dipped in salad cream. Nothing bad about that however I did know someone who had a craven for mud??????? She would dig up the bud put it in her airing cupboard and when it was dry she would nibble on it........

Didn't matter what I craved I would have to go and get it myself as I picked a man who doesn;t do that kind of thing lol

my g/f is 5 months pregnant and has gone off a lot of food (i can't even eat in the same room as the smells of cooked meats make her feel sick) and won't eat anything except vegetable sandwiches.
i have to make them at any given time of day (even at 4am!)as she says she cannot move (methinks this to be a lie of sorts)
sometimes i have to drive 5 miles to the nearest 24 shop and back in the wee hours..

almost forgot, she drinks water like a fish.. 4 litres a day! she keeps saying she's still thirsty! it's costing me a small fortune in mineral water!

I ate loads of beetroot. I cound not explain why, I don't normally like it.
I was terribly ill with sickness but could only eat beetroot. Many years later I read that beetroot contains lots of potassium and that when you are vomiting a lot you lose potassium, so it helps.

it is funny that I craved something that my body needed.

I crave Subways Cold cut combo with lots of mayonnaise, cucumbers, & parmishion cheese. People that eat around me when I am eating at Subway say that is grose but I don't think that is at all. Does anyone else think that is grose. I also crave ice cream with choclet surupe. I also crave sour cream & onion patoto chips & creamy ranch dip.
