Four years is a long time, eh. Plus all the European sides seem weirdly out of sorts playing far from Europe. It wasn't just France who bombed out in 2002.
Anyhoo, France 1982 would clean this France 2006's clock. It's just the quality of soccer is so poor now, you really don't have to be great to win now (look at Greece in 04 or the very average Brazil of 02 and 94).

France is on the resurgence and improving throughout the World Cup.
The test for them will be in the Final against Italy.
Good luck to them. Vive La France!
Who cares about the last World cup--its history. Its the Final of this World cup that counts. Goodbye Italy.
