If you were in the process of losing it, you wouldn't have the wherewithall to ask the question.
Most crazy people think they are normal.

The word "frenzied" brings to mind my 25 yr old daughter who was diagnosed three years ago as bipolar(used to be called manic/depressive) Do you sometimes feel so depressed you just want to sleep and stay away from people and then maybe a few weeks (or even days-HOURS sometimes) be bouncing off the walls, can barely finish a sentence, always moving, cleaning, talking fast, spending money that you shouldn't and even approaching promiscuity? These are all signs of bipolarity. Simple hyper aggitated behavior(although it doesn't SEEM simple when it is you) is mostly stress related and your mind is completely overloaded with stimuli and you feel like you are going to completely go crazy and do something really WEIRD!!! If you have trouble breathing during this period and almost feel like you are going to die at any time, this is an anxiety or panic attack. Please, see a therapist, medication and therapy can and will help so much!! Good luck, honey!

It actually depends on whether you're referring to a panic attack, or an actual psychotic breakdown. With panic attacks there are a number of signs. Racing thoughts, sweating palms, Irratibility, the inability to be around people, restlessness. With an actual psychotic breakdown, it's hard to diagnose. It can be a traumatic event that sparks it, or it could be an accumulation of events that result in unusual or eratic behavior. Some signs mights include irrational thoughts and impulses, and the sudden inability to control urges. Immediate thoughts of suicidal ideation. If you suspect an overload of stress in your life, or that you may be experiencing some problems: I advise you check with a qualified psychologist to get to the root of the problem.

Everyone loses it sometimes. I forget what I am suppose to be doing a lot. I will sometimes make a special trip to go to the library to return a book and completely forget the book. It gets frustrating, sometimes you just need a couple days vacation. We are all getting so busy with things its hard to stay focused sometimes. Just go somewhere for 2 days. Find a nice hotel with a pool and gym, take a good book and a good movie and relax.

Laughter at seemingly nothing, constant pacing, paranoia, insomnia, extreme emotions, inability to carry on a conversation, hallucination, memory loss, but there are other signs. I myself have stood at the edge of sanity, it was quite a view let me tell you.

It depends on what you mean by "losing it?" Do you think you're bipolar, manic, schizophrenic, having anxiety or panic attacks, or something else?

Sure...lots of them. Sweaty palms, rapid heart beat, glazed eyes, reddened face, to name a few.
