Hello, I just got a 97 Eclipse RS Manual, 107K miles and love the car but was wondering why does only one of the two radiator fans kicks in when the engine heats up? The fan to the left kicks in thats next to the header while the one to the right doesnt. I talked to someone and he said the right one is supposed to start working only when the AC is engaged, anyone here can support that statement or is the fan dead and needs replacement?
thanks

the guys right. You have a nice car and it's vary reliable. Musubitsi [pardon the spelling] made the car that way so the engine won't over heat when you use the ac. [can I have you car?]

He is correct, the left radiator fan is for the engine cooling system and probably connected to the water pump through the electrical system. The right fan is strickly for the A/C. Check it out for yourself, I've owned two Eclipses, one a 97 and one a 99. Nice cars, good luck man.
