I haven't heard any rumors floating around. The Braves are pretty much too far back to make a challenge for this season. The good news for Atlanta fans is that the Braves have a good core of young players. This should basically be viewed as a rebuilding year with these individuals gaining much needed game experience. They could always deal someone like perhaps John Smoltz to a contending team and get some nice prospects. They have a fantastic farm system and this would further bolster that.

If I were John Schuerholz, the only players I would call untouchables are Andruw Jones, Brian McCann, Jeff Francoeur, Edgar Renteria, Chuck James and John Smoltz. I would consider anyone else fair game. Maybe he can trade the rest of the team for a bucket of baseballs and a batting glove and bring in a bunch of minor leaguers - they couldn't do any worse.
Getting to the playoffs aren't out of the question yet, but its looking less and less likely.
Sad to say, but this may be the year the run of championships ends.

The Braves are gonna be sellers. Hudson will go and everyone else probably will follow. The reign of the annoying Atlanta Braves is finally over! Lets Go Mets!

I don't really think anyone is going anywhere. They have a lot of the same players as last year. They are just in a slump. I feel things will turn around for them this season. They have had some long losing streaks in the past and have been able to overcome them. Go Braves!

THe only potential big trades they would make would be to deal people away for prospects, not to make a run on the playoff. Shuerholtz is too smart to try for the unattainable.

Nothing about the Atlanta Braves lately is much of a 'big deal'.

I would hate to see Smoltz go, but someone on ESPN said they could trade him before the deadline and then re-sign him in the off-season. That would be OK if they sent him to Detroit to get some young bullpen help. Their pen has lost every game I've seen this season... Terrible... but with their young core of players, it won't take them long to get back to contention... probably not this season though.

As a braves fan I can honestly tell you that they should trade half their bullpen that keeps on messing them up. They'll probably get more wins and less no decisions.
