I took My Baby to the Dr yesterday because of Nosebleeds and they said he has a sinus infection, put him on antibiotics and nosedrops, is there anything else I can do to make him feel better?

use a humidifier, johnson & johnson makes this stuff called vaopr bath, it isn't reccommended until 3 mos but i put it in my daughters bath when she was that little just don't put very much and don't get it your babies eyes- she was fine, they also have a vapor plug in you can use (also not reccommended until 3 mos) but it would be fine to plug it in like in your living room (somewhere big and open) that also helped my daughter

I'm not exactly sure but i think the plug is made by pedia-care

I'm a little skeptical of a diagnosis of a sinus infection in a 3 week old baby. Babies this age do have very small sinuses that are not fully formed and generally do not get infected. I'm not saying its impossible, but it just doesn't happen like that with 3 week olds.

There are LOTS of things that can cause congestion in newborns. Dry air is one cause (so run a vaporizer or humidifier at night). Frequent suctionning of the nose can cause nosebleeds also, so do this sparingly. Hopefully you are using saline (saltwater) nosedrops. ABSOLUTELY avoid cigarette smoke at all costs, as this is one of the most common causes. The baby could just have a cold, in which case the vaporizer / humidifier and occasional saline drops / suctionning is all that is needed.

Another thing you can do is elevate the head of the mattress or crib a little to help ease the nasal congestion. But I would be very concerned if your doctor prescribes antibiotics frequently for "sinus infections" in babies this young. Under 6 months of age they are almost unheard of.

First I would question the heck out of your Dr! Babies do not have formed sinus cavities at that age yet! Nor should a baby be on antibiotics that young unless there is truly and infection. I would keep a humidifier in his room that will help, the saline drops are great too. I would really worry about anyone telling you a baby had a sinus infection that young! Keep the head part of his crib a tad elevated too.

Run a humidifier in the room he is in most of the time. He is too young to use a vaporizer. A warm bath might help also.

The vaporizer or humidifier works, also when laying him down to sleep, prop a blanket or something under his mattress so that he doesn't lay flat, but at a 45 degree angle. This will help him not to swallow the mucus and drain it better.

A humidifier or vaporizer really helps clean the sinuses...vicks makes a good one, and you can run the vicks liquid with it...also try a little vicks on his chest..helps him breathe a little easier

You could also put him in a bouncy seat or in his carseat and put him in the bathroom while you take a shower. The steam helps clear up his nasal passages.

Not really. Be soothing and let him sleep. A lot of touching (baby sleeping on your bare skin) can be good.
