Im at the public library now, and looking for something to do for a few hours, so was wondering if anyone could recommend some good books, or authors. If novels, preferably non-fiction, but other than novels, just general interest subjects would be good. Just something that would be interesting. ie, religion, life, etc. Pretty much anything people want to recommend, and why. Thanks very much. Time is an essence....

If you're looking for "interesting books" look up Guns, Germs and Steel, or Dirty little secrets of world war 2.

If you want a semi-fiction (historical book where all the events are close to what happened, there's just characters invented to move things along) Look up Trinity by Leon Uris

Orson Scott Card is my favorite author. If you want to go for a great series, try Ender's Game. If you're not sure science fiction is to your liking...try Enchantment, a modernized Sleeping Beauty.

Guinea Pig Scientists, Invisible Allies, and The Life and Death of Adolph Hitler are some great nonfiction titles I can think of off the top of my head.

Sarah Dessen is a great YA author as is Stephenie Meyer.

"Marley and Me" by John Grogan. If you like dogs, you will LOVE this book. Besides a great story (true events of life with a crazy Lab), it's probably the most well written book I've ever read.

Would love to recommend things for you to read, but without knowing whether you're a pre-teen, high school student, or adult, it's pretty difficult. Why dont' you ask the librarian for recommendations, since you're right there? That's one of the things they're trained to do.

Louise L. Hay "You can Heal your life" I think is the title.

It is something about life and your outlook for it. She's the best!
