I am running at 16%...is that good?

16% is good. You are taking the time to answer the question, rather than trying to rack up the easy points with speedy answers.
I have 20%, but it's from taking the time. I also answer usually in areas where I have experience.
And, it's ok to take it seriously. If I asked a question and needed information, I would want your thoughtful answer, y'know?

I am at 20%. If you look at the leader board then you will get an idea of the high end for percentages. They answer thousands of questions and still manage to get like 50% of them chosen as best answers. That's impressive!

I'm at 2% right now, you know, like the milk? I don't really take it too seriously but if it's something I'm interested in I'll take the time to write a good answer.
