Dr. Robert Epstein ( Harvard, editor-chief Psychology Today) theory is that people are not necessarily fully straight or fully gay. That they could be somewhere between. What you think about this?
There is a test(ESOI) that you can take to determine where are you on this line at http://www.drrobertepstein.com/

I don't know how much faith to put in this particular test, because I think it is too simple and short.

But I DO believe wholeheartedly that there is a sexual continuum, and most people simply will not talk about it.

Gray areas are very hard for a lot of people to deal with. Black and white, good and evil, straight and gay, are much more manageable for most people... even though all of them are oversimplifications of reality.

By the way, I am quite sure I'm lesbian, but on the test, got these results:
Your Mean Sexual Orientation is 9
Your Sexual Orientation Range is 6

I am gay. I have been open about it for several years. Before that I was hiding and trying to live a straight life but I was very unhappy.

I took you rdoctors test. Interesting test. however I think many of his questions need to go further in deepth and discuss some time periods.

Since I came out I have been GAY. I don't want a women in anyway sexually. When I was hiding and trying to live a staight life I did have soem sexual fantasies about women. However I do believe part of it was due to my living conditions.

I think a person can be trained/brain washed while in certain living conditions. While living a straight life I think I fantasies of a few women because I wouldn't allow myself any other fantasies.

So can a person be an 8 on your doctors scale. Yes and he can be gay. Can he be gay and be a 4. Yes. I think your doctors reseach is interesting but in conclusive. He needs to take many more factors into his equation.

I believe in the continuum. I am sexual mean 4.5, sexual range 9, I think I a little more hetero than that, but you know, sexuality is difficult to quantify. I definitely agree with the idea of the continuum, the idea that you don't have to be one or the other.

The theory talks about possibilities and I agree. Some people may experience changes in sexual preference over time. "Fully straight and fully gay" is so yesterday, about the same time we thought women stayed in caves while men did the hunting.

Last time I took this test I was 7 and a range of 10. Took it just now and I'm 6.5 and a range of 11.

Does that mean I'm becoming even more Bi and desperate (casting my net over a wider range of orientations)?

Or am I just a Naughty, Naughty Avuncular one (somebody spank me!)? LOL!

i am absolutely sure, based on my experiance, that all people are bisexual to some extent. so, the test confirmed that i am also like this, though i would right now choose a straight relationship. but, i do have a choice, i think everybody does

Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

I think there's definitely some truth to the idea that we're all bi-sexual to some degree, but I think the test is bogus.

comfortably straight
