I believe more important than the child's right to be born is the child's right to be born within a proper environment for raising a child.
I think that a child has the right to be born with two parents to raise and support it. I think that a child has a right to be WANTED and planned. I think that a child has the right to be loved and cherished. If all of that isn't available, the child would probably be better of going to heaven instead of having the miserable life parents who don't want children would provide for them.
... and don't tell me about adoption... there are MILLIONS of children available for adoption and VERY few of the anti-abortion people are out adopting them. They end up being raised by the state by people who don't care for them any more than "it's just a job," and WE ALL end up paying for it. Then they get thrown out into society at the age of 18 to fend for themselves without any of the TOOLS necessary to survive in our society.
By-the-way, I resent being told how NOT to answer the question.
I believe a woman has the right to choose what happens to her body and has the right to choose to have or not to have a child. Having a child doesn't end when the child is born. It's a lifelong commitment... some people shouldn't have children.

During the stages of where an abortion can be done the FOETUS is not a child.. it is a foetus.. We are all robbed of rights during our life.. I cant get married because I am with a woman.. Does anyone care about my rights? no they dont! but thats life!
Abortion is 100% up to the woman! If you got raped and fell pregnant.. would you want to bring that child to term and give birth? I wouldnt.. with all the poverty already in the world in our own back yards.. why would you bring a child into this world if you had nothing to offer? If the foetus had rights, pregnant woman would be arrested for drinking.. smoking.. next thing they will not be able to get in a car as the foetus didnt give permission and that car could crash.. Abortion should be legal and it should 100% be the decision of the mother!

If you are raped, I don’t believe you are responsible, because you didn’t consent to sex, or any of it’s repercussions. It would be good if you carried it, and raised it, or gave it up for adoption, but I don’t think you are morally bonded to do so. If you have sex with or without a condom, your risking getting knocked up, and if you do, I believe you should at least have it. Maybe not keep it, but give it up for adoption, because you knew the possibility of getting pregnant when you had sex.
Oh, and it kinda is the woman’s choice, like it or not. If you post a question, don’t give a limitation on the answer, because some people truly believe that way.

Honestly I feel sorry for the woman having to make the choice - no matter what it cannot be an easy thing to live with later in life. I used to really be against abortion, but as I grew older I began to see that ther are many things in this world that are just plain hard to figure.

You posted a great question. I think that abortions are wrong because you are taking the life of a beautiful child who even though he/she was concived in a bad way. the child should still be given a chance to live out a perfect life.

Although I am firm believer of a woman's right to choose, abortion is a tragic option of last resort and should never be used as a form of birth control when there are so many effective and less tragic birth control methods out there.

I have always been pro-life until very recently. I still am in most part but someone very close to me was raped and now she is pregnant. She is in turmoil bc she is pro-life as well but if she has the baby...she has to look @ that baby everyday and be reminded of how it all came to be. right? what should she do? i guess to answer your question its all based on circumstance. I guess it would be ok up to a certain point.

I am pro life. I think abortion should not be legal and the reason is because I am bisexual. As soon as they prove that there is a genetic link to being bi or gay or lesbian their will be a rush to find a test for it. And I bet a lot of pro lifers will switch to pro choice when that happens.

reading your question it doesn't sound like much anyone can say. You have stated you opinion and you don't want to hear and opposing one.
