NK has to realize that any serious provocation towards SK or japan will result in annihilation.

Oooooo they have 8 nukes. We have missles with 10 nukes each!!!!!!!!

Granted a ground invasion into NK would be ugly, we could avoid that by sealing the DMZ and halting all trade with them. Then bomb the living crap out of all military and infrastructure sites.

I think they're just having a temper tantrum. We've been paying attention to Iraq, Iran, the Mexican elections, etc. They've been out of the limelight for a while, and they don't like it. They've been trumpeting that they can hit the U.S. with long-range missles, when the only part of the U.S. they could reach are the southernmost islands of Alaska. That may be bad news for the very few people who might live there, but there's no point in bombing them. North Korea has to know that if they attack even that much of the U.S., they should be prepared to be flat, black and glowing within hours.
