It is a big ding on your credit rating which will drop in a heart beat. Breaking the contract is not reportable, but not paying the penalty is. As soon as creditors see that non-payment, charge off on your report, you can start saying hello to higher interest rates and rejected credit applications.

The worst thing they can do to you is send you to a collection agency.. If they can't still get that payment from you, They would mark a delinquent in your credit history..

Trust me!! No matter how good is your credit, 1 delinquent in your credit is huge demeritt.

When you buy a car or a house, you will end up paying for that delinquent bill anyway.. so i guess just pay it!

Its a lesson to be learned!!

Pay the early term fee and you won't have ANY dings on it.

If the service is really crappy, call them EVERY time that you have a problem (*611) and pitch a hissy-fit. They'll eventually get tired of dealing with you and may offer to break the contract without penalty.

I have...sprint screwed me. I broke my contract, had to pay the fee, and it was done with. Best thing I ever did. I have high credit too. If it did go on my report...it didn't do anything. Go for it!

Plenty of people have.

By the way, you may have a high credit rating, but that one unpaid debt will trash your credit report real quick.

yep I have done it to cellular one and cingular, I was not satisfied, I knew it would be on my credit report, but I had bad credit anyway....now if I had great credit, I would not do it , cause it can and usually will be held against you.
