I have seen others insult people for asking questions here, trying to get answers, a valid reason for using this site. But what I dont understand are those who will insult, and attack people for asking the questions in the first place. Is this the American way, to attack someone for seeking answers to their questions? I dont think so. If a person has nothing constructive to add, or an answer to give, then they should keep their personal opinions to themselves. What are they afraid of? Surely a question cannot hurt them. But they act as if they have been hurt somehow by a simple question. Is their ego so shallow that all they can do is attack others for seeking knowledge? These are probably the same bullies who attacked students for achieving Honor Roll status in school. Far better to remain stupid, than seek knowledge, I guess. *Rolls eyes*

Far too many people want to off set the real meaning of the question, to make it to what they want it to be. They would much rather attach someone else to make themselves feel better. The questions they do not like the chime in on and use ...Freedom of speech as an excuse.
Do you really seriously think that what happens in school doesn't happen with the government?. They say that Everything you need to know you learn in kindergarten. That includes how to degrade, and insult. How to make another feel bad so you look better in front of your friends. And how to insult. NOT just ABC's and 123's. Sure the lesson of share is there in kindergarten, but just like everything else, it is corrupted. We share...insults and pain with others. You make someone hurt, and inflict pain on others, and your considered to be in high regard.

How true. Same applies when someone answers with a point view different from theirs, they start the name calling and accusations.

I have personally experienced this several times and I replied with something very similar to what you have stated in your question.

I guess the problem is that deep down inside, some people are truly so biased and discriminating and when you you don't agree with their opinions / ideas, then you're the "bad" guy.

Some people - like you mentioned - are shallow and may I add too weak to hear an opposing view because it just might make shale their beliefs and make them discover that just maybe they are wrong. The truth is not easily accepted by many and ignorance may be a total bliss for them.

But does sinking in our own ignorance (and worse dragging others down us) really resolve anything? Definitely not.

Thanks for the question, it felt really good to hear from a voice other than mine.

I believe you substancially - till somebody else is being out of line with their own question. yet i'm positive that an smart individual can hit upon a diplomatic and articualte way of answering, even if the questions were irrelevant or not. and also you're also accurate on yet another element - answering ratings you factors - insulting people ratings you a lack of respect in the direction of you from others, and from you. genuine people bypass on solutions... And if someone has been in a disaster, which I were those days (even although this become the first time that I have extremely washed my dirty laundry in public), then how dare someone make relaxing of that, or be thoughtless and impolite? i'm positive that they have got experienced their own own trauma.... I have had a rocky existence, yet i do not take it out on 'each and every' unmarried individual I come for the time of... in the adventure that they are that impolite in simple terms document them. thats my advice.

Oh my gawd!!! How could you ask such a question....

Just kidding... A lot of the questions on here seem to be more reaffirmations of the askers point of view or put downs toward those who feel differently. There are a few good ones that actually encourage discourse, but they do get enveloped in negative babble. The worst are the internet geeks who take cheap potshots at the guest question askers. Who can hate on Stephen Hawking?

Shallow ego is probably pretty close to the truth.

I have done it a few times; I try not too but sometimes the questions are so pathetic and I mean so hate filled and stupid that I just can't hold back. Its not my nature to call people morons or idiots but I've had to do it around here. It might be easier for me to ignore the question but that seems wrong too - someone needs to point out the hate, bitterness, ugliness and how it doesn't help a darn thing.

Because it takes all kinds. I mentioned once that my husband was a vet and had died and actually got an email from someone who said they thought it was funny he died! People can be cruel, or just here to try to get a reaction from others. Yes it can be very frustrating when you really want an answer.

Many people just ask baited questions, which deserve to be ridiculed. Like "Why is Bush stupid" or "Why do liberals hate America". Those are worthless, loaded questions which I don't take seriously, but I do have fun with.

Other, legitimate questions get ridiculed because some people are just plain mean. They have no manners. And they hate themselves and probably have small penises.
