Blood is grouped into 4 categories according to compatibility - A, B, AB and O. Blood cells are bi-concave discs designed to transport oxygen around the body. On the surface they have molecular markers called antigens. These antigens are recognised by your body's immune system. The immune system produces molecules called antibodies that attack foreign antigens. If you have O blood group, this means that your red blood cells have no A antigens or B antigens (found in blood cells of the A blood group and B blood group) and therefore your plasma has no A antibodies nor B antibodies and you can donate your blood to any blood group. Conversely if you had AB blood group, you could receive blood from anybody. The plus sign is in reference to the Rhesus antigen that is present in your case, or in the case of someone with a negative sign, it is lacking. This Rhesus negative condition may have an impact on a pregnant mother and subsequent foetuses.

Correct - This is your blood group O Positive!
There are 4 blood groups A B AB and yours O
Each one can be Positive or Negative.
These are important factors when considering Transfusions, as usually different types of blood can't be mixed - but Group O is known as the Universl Donor as it can be given to anyone with any Blood type, as long as they are both Positive or both Negative
