When you are asleep, you are by definition not conscious, except perhaps during lucid dreams. When you are doing mundane tasks, such as driving, your mind might wander and you find you have arrived at your destination without ever being aware of the journey at all. Perhaps human consciousness is more an ideal than a reality.

Sadly, I'm particularly bad about this one. I spend a majority of my day so bogged down with paperwork and stress that I often "snap out of it" and realize I've been staring at a piece of fuzz on my desk for 20 minutes.

I drive to work, wonder how I got there, and drive home and can't remember what I did since lunch. I rarely "contemplate" anything, but my dreams are vivid and incredibly lifelike. Perhaps that is my mind's call for help!

Unfortunatly, I probably more accurately represent the population better than most. I'd say that my percentage is less than 50%.

Thanks for the break from the monotomy! Now back to work...

Quite frankly, Do you know how a conscious makes it conscious? I don't know when I am not conscious. I am conscious all the time. Quite possibly mesopotemic. I am probably a relic of mesopotamian times. As possibly you have evolved into the modern age to save energy, you lose consciousness when you are not asked to be conscious.

85%... I spaced out a lot and that scares me. I spaced out when somebody that I hate was talking -- that's fine. But what if I was unconscious of how I was driving, accident may happen. Where was I at those moments? I don't know. It's a mystery.

*sigh* I guess we'll never know. Wish it were simple! If we were really awake when we dream that would be cool though. Dreams are always more fun than (so-called) reality. :)

For any amount of time one must deal with oneself.

WE ARE OMNIPOTENTLY CONSCIOUS 100% DAY AND NIGHT. OUR HUMAN BRAINS JUST DO NOT REALIZE IT.
