Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad he is okay. I ride and know the dangers. Are you sure the accident is the issue here? Is he blue because his bike was totalled and he cannot replace it (no insurance?)...

You cannot make him happy, only he can do that...it sounds as though you are doing what you can to help (cheer him up) though...so keep doing that...talk to him, if he'll open up to you, about why he's depressed...was the accident serious (near fatal?) It may have really shaken him up....would he consider counseling to help him come to terms with whatever is troubling him? Does he have any biker friends that could talk to him?

I hope a solution comes along, and he can be as he was before the accident...sounds like he need to talk to someone, and put things in perspective...good luck...

Oh, man. Been there....I just got my bike back from a spill. Only words of advice are be glad you got up and walked away from the accident. I am SOO blessed not have been injured from such an event. But on the other hand, I can see where his depression is coming from. A bike is an extension of the rider. It felt like part of me was in the shop for 6 weeks getting repaired. With something like that, you just got to let him go through his feelings. You just don't mess with a person and his/her love for their bike.

Good luck to both of you!

first get him out of the house...plan something everyday and whatever he likes to do, do it!! find activities that both of you'all can do and maybe he's not just depressed he could be still going through shock from the accident , you see each person deals with trauma differently that could be alot of it and he might need to talk to a psychiatrist and that's not to say something (mentally wrong) but just to be able to get his feelings out with a professional...just try everything above first...

Sounds like your boyfriend has a personal problem to me.It might not be because he was in a accident. Stop babying him trying to do this trying to do that. You sound like you're smothering him. It's probably something on his mind, that he's not telling you.Have you thought he might not want to be bothered.

He needs to think on what he does have. My kid's the same; she spends, or she used to spend a *lot* of time thinking of what she didn't have. Then enough was enough, I told her: 'don't imagine being unhappy any more or you *will* get punished' She stopped and now she's constantly happy.

Give him space when I have been on an accident, I never wanted to do anything so give him some time take it easy on him.

Tell him he is lucky to be alive and the motorcycle can be replaced, but he can't.
He really should be glad he isn't dead or seriously hurt.
