I mean, the guy drops dead after being convicted, after thousands of people lost money, some their entire life savings, so greed could be promoted.

Of course I feel bad for his family, but somehow I think all the stress he caused himself with questionable and unethical practices caught up with him.

Good question.

I'm not sure his death was the result of karmic retribution or not. I'm thinking he was just a heartbeat away from an infarction. Type-A personality, stress, etc.

At any rate, at the end of the Bush Baby's term, Lay would have been pardoned by the Little Prince, so it's really a "neither here nor there" scenario.

If he did get to prison it would have been a hardship to be certain: only one golf course to play, having to wait for a tennis court, no private lap pools...you know those types of "prisons" to which the rich, famous and friends of The Empire are sent.

Nah. It was bloodsludge that got him.

Actually, I think he was either killed by someone who may have INDUCED the heart attack, or he poisoned himself to induce it. There are various poisons out there that can produce an effect that would CAUSE a heart attack and later any trace of that poison would disappear.

Reasons:
If he was killed, it might have been out of revenge or maybe he was about to expose the TRUTH about how he was able to get away with "stealing" the company's money.

If he killed himself, it was to avoid the jail time. Why he made it LOOK LIKE a heart attack, was probably so that his family will enjoy his life insurance pay out. I hear they don't pay if the insured offs him/herself.

Basically, I believe, if he was 'stealing' "money" from the company, he was only able to because someone might have let him. The reason why I believe he got caught, was because that someone didn't like him anymore(for whatever reason - we'll never know) and decided Ken Lay's 15 minutes of wealth was over.

Ken was the captain that had to go down with his ship. I knew Ken Lay most of my life, and even though he made some terrible decisions, his family is still suffering, and with his children, that I used to play with at Christmas parties and such, not only have lost their father in the moral sense, but realistically as well. Its sad that people who did not even know him, criticize his existence. He was not a "bad" man. When I knew him, he was a friend to my father and he worked hard and helped those around him. I don't know what happened to change that, but I will never forget the man that he was.

It's God's way of sparing a man the horrible conditions of being locked up in a prison with a bunch of low lifes. Upper class businessmen do not belong in prison. That is for lowlife thugs

If you mean that karma decided he would die for his crimes, then why aren't all the people in prison dropping like flies? Or is it that you only hold a grudge against a rich guy (one of the largest contributors of money to Houston's charities)? You see "justice" in his death. That's very weird.

No I don't think it was Karma.

I think it was one more chicken sh*t way of avoiding responsibility for his actions.

And I think every penny of his estate should go towards repaying everyone he scr*wed.
