If you have a university nearby they can identify the bone remains for you. You can also take them or a picture if you don't want to disturb them, to the animal shelter if you think it may be a canine or feline. I found a bone once while hiking and didn't know what it was, but wanted to keep it as a decoration. (It obviously was not human.)
Most universities have people in their zoology or biology, even archeology or veterinary departments who can tell in an instant what the bone came from.

i found some bones in my yard too while digging. I brought them into school to show my biology teacher. Maybe you can do something similar, maybe there is a university or a museum where you live.

Maybe somene in the Department of Natural resources. Even a game warden, they could direct you better. Try a local universities biology dept or the Agriculture dept. Did you find the missing link?:)))) Oh yeah the county agent could help

Call your local police station. I'm sure they won't mind coming out to rule out human remains, and they can put you in contact with other agencies who will be able to help you if they prove to be animal bones.

Contact the previous owners to find out if they had a pet die. Check thru the Real Eastate company who sold you the property, they'll know who owned it b4. Or if they had a dog that liked to bury bones

I once found a skull in the woods. I wondered who this person was, what kind of life they had, and what they died from. I also wondered why they had antlers growing out the side of their head.

Call the police... hopefully it's nothing horrible. But if it is, it could be important. Good luck with that!
