this loan was given 6 years ago because at closing the purchaser would have lost everything without the 1500.00 he refuses to acknowledge my requests for payment since the money was for the house i feel i can put a lien on that house in order to retrieve my money. what say you?

Depends on what state your in, but in MO if you have documentation, you can. However you will need to go to court to have a judgment to make the lien permanent.

Keep in mind that a lien only comes into effect when the property is sold.

Yes but you must first get a judgement against him.Look up small claims court or get a lawyer.
